A little ray of darkness from the city of stories. Norwich the UNESCO city of literature, inspiring and birthing authors, writers, storytellers throughout the ages… And the home of the Norwich Book Bat. She can be found haunting libraries, bookshops or any dusty book shelf.
The Maidens
Iron Age treasures.
The flat lands of East Anglia hold many secrets, buried, quietly waiting.
These maidens are as if unearthed from among the chalk and flint, somewhere old and deep.
Talisman: quiet strength, endurance and connection to the earth
Colour: earthy iron tones, aged with the slow passing of time.
9cm tall
Each one is individually hand-cast and finished as part of this small batch.
The bat you receive will be similar to those shown in the group photograph. While they share the same form and finish, subtle differences in tone, markings, and character make every piece slightly unique.
Each order is selected at random when packed. You won’t be able to choose a specific bat — part of the pleasure is not knowing exactly which one will make its way to you.
